Driver Typically, an electronic function used to provide
amplification to drive high current
loads. In common usage, the term is often employed to denote
bus drivers that rapidly
charge and discharge capacitance. In BEAMbots,
it is almost always used to denote the ability to control
power, such as when driving a solenoid, motor, or other
high-current device. See the BEAM
Reference Library's BEAM
Circuits Collection for a series of writeups on
BEAM motor
drivers.
