Depletion mode A type of FET in
which reverse gate-source
voltage is used to deplete the channel
of free carriers. These devices
reduce current flow by increasing
the negative voltage on the gate
(assuming an N-type channel).
This reduces the size of the channel
and increases its resistance. See also MOSFET and enhancement
mode.
