Darlington Transistor The term Darlington "Transistor"
is really a misnomer, as Darlingtons are (more accurately)
transistor pairs: Thanks to their "piggy-back" configuration, Darlingtons
can be used to yield very high amplification of a control
current (since a Darlington's
total gain is equal to the product of the gains of the two
BJT transistors
it is made from).
